FREE Ecstatic Dance Event - Prana House Open Weekend

This ecstatic dance event aims to create an inclusive and supportive environment where all

individuals feel empowered to express themselves freely. More than just a dance event, it

serves as a vibrant community gathering celebrating diversity.

  • Intention Setting: The evening will begin with meditation to set intentions, gather as a community, and acknowledge the land on which we meet.

  • Creative Expression: A sober dance space for all attendees to express themselves

Style and Tone

Expect an atmosphere characterized by intention, imagination, freedom, and self-expression.

This space will be open, inclusive, safe, and accessible. We will be playing Low key Afro, jazzy

expressive music.

Structure of the Evening:

1. Acknowledgment of Country: The event will begin with a respectful acknowledgment

of the land and its First Nations peoples.

2. Meditation and Intention Setting: We will gather for meditation, set intentions, share tea, and listen to spoken word artists.

3. Dance Session: The DJ will play, and we will dance for 45 minutes.

4. Closing: We will express gratitude for the experience, join in prayer, share reflections, assist in packing up the venue, and formally close the practice.

5. Accessibility: This will be a free event, ensuring accessibility for all attendees.

Your Facilitator

Meg is a passionate singer-songwriter whose love for music has been an integral part of her life since childhood. She is a writer, dancer, singer-songwriter, DJ dreamer and creator. In addition to her artistry, Meg is an early childhood educator, a role that allows her to see the love and potential in people of all ages. She believes all people are worthy of being and becoming who they want to be. She actively runs and promotes events that create platforms for diverse voices to unite. As a versatile artist, she is not only a singer but also a writer, poet, dancer, and free spirit. She thrives on fostering a sense of community where everyone has the opportunity to express themselves and be heard.

Meg’s commitment to inclusivity is evident in her work, cultivating warm and welcoming atmospheres wherever she performs or organizes events. Her music is a heartfelt exploration of life’s depths, capturing the complexities of the human experience and the beauty of shared moments.
