More about Lama Tendar: Lama Tendar has been a Buddhist monk since the age of 12 when he first entered Gyuto Ramoche Monastery in Lhasa in Tibet. He has an extraordinarily pure energy that is transferred to him from an over 2500 year Buddhist lineage stretching back through His Holiness, the 14th Dalai Lama, all the way back to Shakyamuni Buddha. After being tortured during the trouble in Tibet he, and a few brave colleagues, escaped over the treacherous Himalayas to find refuge in India. Lama then spent years in Retreat and meditation integrating his suffering and honing his purification practices. Over 16 years studying at Gyuto Tantric University in India he achieved his Geshe degrees and became a skilled artist, musician, healer and Chant Master for the travelling Gyuto Monks. Eventually choosing to set up his Centre in Australia, over 20 years ago, he is the founder of the Medicine Buddha Tantrayana Meditation Centre and Director of the Shantideva Buddhist Foundation. He travels every year teaching Buddha Dharma and providing healing and solace for the people and communities of Australia. He lives his life to benefit all sentient beings through the practice of wisdom and compassion.
