Time to connect with your body and self after the experiences of pregnancy and birth. As part of our Open House on 16th & 17th November we will be offering a FREE trial Mum’s & Bub’s Yoga class.
This practice focuses on releasing the shoulders and upper back while strengthening and stabilising the core and pelvic floor. Each session is held with the babies on the mother's mat. The focus is on the mum, with opportunities to playfully interact with your baby during the yoga positions. We may massage the babies, tickle them, chant, sing or rock them.
Suitable from 6/10 weeks after birth (once you have been cleared by your GP for exercise) and until your baby is actively mobile.
There is no expectation that your baby is settled before or during the class. Adapting to your baby through their cycle of sleeping, feeding, being changed, crying and being soothed is all normalised throughout the yoga session.
Melisa Chabierski has been practicing hatha yoga and meditation for over 25 years, and has been teaching since 2000. Melisa specialises in yoga for the life transitions of pregnancy, early parenting, and menopause.
Mums and Bubs yoga is a safe space to reconnect with yourself as you are, and learn new ways of connecting with your baby. Melisa is passionate about empowering new mums with yoga practices that work with the sudden changes of body, lifestyle, energy, and self-identity.
She can confidently adjust the practice to meet your individual body's changing needs. Suitable for all levels of ability, from beginners to advanced practitioners of yoga.
Please arrive at least 15 mins before the session to complete the intake form and check in with the teacher/Melisa. Wear comfortable clothing that you can move in. BYO dribble cloth/play mat for your baby.
