Adrenal Fatigue
Adrenal fatigue is showing up a lot with my clients lately so I thought I would jump on here and explain what it is and what the signs are if you're experiencing it.
It's a very common, stress related issue which affects the cortisol levels in the body and leads to a less than diserable state of being. In other words, burn out!
Signs/symptoms include:
Lack of energy
Lack of motivation
Craving carbohydrates, sugar and caffeine
Poor sleep
Mood swings
Difficulty focusing or remembering
Mild depression and anxiety
Our adrenals are also tied to our fight and flight repsonse and as we navigate the challenges of every day life, we are constantly triggering these responses which releases adrenaline and cortisol from our adrenal glands.
Ways to bring ourselves back into balance:
Supplements like Vitamin B, folic acid, Vitamin C, etc.
Breathing techniques
A healthy diet
Adequate sleep
Exercise
Reducing caffeine and other stimulants
Engaging in a hobby
